Four questions that tell you a lot about a roofer. A good one will answer them plainly.

  1. What is your Florida licence number?Ask for the number and the name it is in, then look it up on myfloridalicense.com before work starts.
  2. Can you send your insurance certificates?Ask for proof of liability and workers' comp insurance, and check the names and dates.
  3. Who pulls the permit?Roof replacements and many repairs need a building permit. Ask who pulls it and ask to see it.
  4. What is in the estimate and the warranty?Get the scope, materials, payment schedule and the workmanship warranty, in writing.
